Eaglerock Policies and general Eaglerock information

Eaglerock puppies are sold only with limited registration/alter before sale to companion  homes. Responsible show/breeder/trainers with references may purchase a potential show/trial/breeding prospect on co-ownership only. with the agreement that if the pup does not meet standards for temperament and or conformation it will be altered and placed. Show/breeding and field prospects , grown out show-trained-ring ready pups/dogs will be priced according to their merit.

Eaglerock is my hobby,my passion, I love the dogs shows,the way it feels when It all come together and your standing in the winners ring with your first Champion or you make the breeds list or you get a qualifying  leg in Obedience and get a placement or a High In Trial. I make my living running a boarding kennel and grooming for my clients, not by the pups I raise.My pups are not goods on a shelf. They don't have a expiration date at 8 weeks and have to go. Every pup will be placed only in a screened approved home.

Almost all of Eaglerock pups in the last 15 years have been tattooed starting with Captain my daughter's Sheltie in 1995.We have been a Tattoo -a-Pet owner since 1995.All of our dogs sport a TMTH tattoo with a number on their inner thigh. Pups come with a certificate to send in a get a tag. I also have pups micro chipped .(update 2011 we either chip or tattoo.)

Eaglerock pups have alway had a six (6) year replacement guarantee.If your pup develops heredity hip,eye, vWd ,PFK ,perthes we will replace the dog .We also keep first refusal rights on the pups we sell. Our commitment to our pups is for his lifetime.

Please be aware of the total picture when your family is deciding on bringing a pup or dog into your home.You must be ready for commitment of 10 to 15 years to a animal that will depend on you for its well being.I will ask you questions, I may ask for references .I do home checks when ever possible.

Shetland Sheepdogs

" I just want a pet but, I want to breed her   "

How I dread those words. The reason the pup is on a alter contract is because it doesn't conform to the standard.As the breeder I see the wrong color, to large a   ear ,to large in size ,straight shoulder. The pup is adorable and cute,   but a PET   not the next show champion .

Shelties do not breed true.To be a sheltie breeder you have to have stamina for the long haul. You will get undersized, over sized ,popcorn teeth, lance canines,ears that are prick or hound ears PRA ,vWd ,hip problems or legges" pethes. One puppy or none in your litter will be a prospect.Your Champion sired show prospect that is stunning in every way grows 1/2 "over the standard ,you neuter and place and you start again.

In fifteen years I have sold only three sheltie pups as prospects. Out of those three, two were spayed   and one produced two showdogs.I have kept the best for my breeding program to improve the next generation and even then the ones I have high hopes for that don't grow out to expectations are altered and placed.All pets are altered, most before they go to their new homes.

Remember every dog you breed ,you are responsible for them for life. If you are not willing to do this then don't breed.

Great Pyrenees

Pyrenees are only sold as altered pets   UNLESS you are an established show breeder or a person that is being mentored by a GPCA member.

Field Bred English Springer Spaniels

     Companion/Pet pups will  be sold on a spay/neuter contract.(Must be done by six months of age)

 UNLESS

 you are a established trainer/Breeder and  agree to the terms stated above

This the only way a companion Shetland Sheepdog pup is sold at Eaglerock. Limited registration/Spay/neuter contracts only when the pup is to small in size to be done before sale or you have bought a dog from us before.
